There was an update to the SHV 5-20×56 elevation turret, a new reticle (Mil-C) and a slick new Nightforce branded Carbon Fiber Tripod. Single Handed Shooting
This short video was spurred by a technique I saw this morning, demonstrated by another instructor. Just because it is new, does not necessarily make it better. Try new techniques, but evaluate them based on the classic methods. There may be a reason the “old way” has stuck around so long.

Lapua Announces 6.5CM Brass for Q1 2017.
It is “official”! Lapua has announced that brass for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge will be available in the first quarter of 2017. The Lapua brass should offer some improvements over currently available brass. In addition to Lapua’s usual consistency, the new 6.5CM brass will use small rifle primers. Lapua also opted for a 1.5mm flash hole versus the industry standard 2mm. Hopefully this will help alleviate the need for small diameter firing pin holes on 6.5CM rifles.

If you have spent any amount of time in the precision rifle world, it is likely that you have heard of Bryan Litz and Applied Ballistics. Bryan is a long time competitive rifle shooter and current member of the US Rifle Team. He is also the Chief Ballistician of Berger Bullets. To say that Bryan wrote the book on modern rifle ballistics would be true. In fact, he has written several. I first became acquainted with Bryan’s work when I read “Applied Ballistics for the Long Range Shooter”. This book is now in Volume III, and contains an extensive library of tested G7 Ballistic Coefficients for popular long range bullets.
