Bushnell AR Optics 1-4x24mm Throw Down PCL First Look

IMG_3175We recently received a new Bushnell AR Optics 1-4x24mm rifle scope. Our first impression is this scope offers a lot of value for the price. They retail for approximately $230.

The AR Optics 1-4×24 features a First Focal Plane BTR-1 reticle and 0.1 mRad turrets. The BTR-1 is a bullet drop compensated reticle designed for the .223 cartridge. When we do our full review we will report back with what bullet and muzzle velocity match up with the reticle.

The most notable feature on the AR Optics 1-4x24mm is the “Throw Down PCL” (Power Change Lever). The PCL allows for very fast and sure trips from minimum to maximum magnification and back. The level folds flat against the ocular bell when not in use. Magnification can still be easily adjusted with the PCL folded. Initially this seems like a very useful feature, but we will have to see how it works in the real world.

We mounted the scope in an Alamo Four Star 30mm DLOC mount so we can quickly drop this on several different platforms. Stay tuned for our full review.

  1. Hi John, when is the full review of this optic coming out? I’m particularly interested in the accuracy of the reticle subtensons.
    Thanks!

      1. Sounds great, thanks. I am definitely interested I seeing how visible the reticle is in daylight conditions and also how accurate the drop subtensions are. Looking forward to it! Thanks again!

  2. Sounds great. I’m particularly interested in seeing how bright the reticle illumination is during daylight conditions and how accurate the reticle subtensions are at the various distances with M193. Thanks again, John! I’m really enjoying your channel and it’s nice to see you and your family participating in your videos.
    Cheers!
