Mail Call Mondays Season 3 #4 – 308 Limitations and Doing Your Homework

This week’s Mail Call Mondays was inspired by a post on one of the many Facebook gun pages. It pointed out to me that often new shooters will pickup something a Firearms Instructor has said without actually understanding the math and theory behind it. When this occurs it is easy to get the idea out of context.

This week we look at the benefits and limitations of the .308 Winchester cartridge and what happens when you try to go too short on barrel length.

SHOT Show 2014 Day 2

imageWe spent most of Day 2 with Mile High Shooting Accessories and Accuracy International North America. Scott Sigmund was nice enough to walk us through the improvements to the AX308 system. The AX308 now boasts most of the features of the Accuracy International PSR rifle, but in a short action package. The whole rifle can be broken down into a “carry on” sized hard case. This opens up a vast number of options for professional snipers or even the average competitive shooter who has to shoehorn a rifle into a compact rental car. Continue reading SHOT Show 2014 Day 2

American Snipers 2014 Challenge Coin

Americansnipers.org posted up a preview of their new Challenge Coin. These will be available at the 2014 SHOT Show, then later on the American Snipers website. All proceeds go to support deployed Snipers. I have been collecting these for several years now.

If you are Attending the SHOT Show make sure you stop by the main booth in the Level 3 Hall (L338) or one of the many satellite tables throughout the show.
