Mail Call Mondays Season 3 #31 – Remington Triggers and the Recall
A very large number of violent encounters, SWAT standoffs and military operations occur at night. Professional shooters know that training at night is a necessity.
Shooting at night holds some benefits for recreational shooters as well. Ranges are generally deserted. The temperature is cooler in the summer. The winds are mild. Did I mention the range is deserted? Continue reading Night Putting (target shooting at night)
Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper, “American Sniper” the movie, will be hitting US theaters on Christmas Day. “American Sniper” the book is an autobiography of the late Chris Kyle a U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper and is available now. It will be interesting to see how much of the movie follows Kyle’s life and how much is Hollywood Drama. With Clint Eastwood directing, I have high hopes for a quality movie.

Thunder Beast Arms Corporation just announced a program for owners to upgrade their 338P and 338P-1 suppressors to the new 338BA internals. Thunder Beast states that the upgrade will be done at no charge and with minimal delay! We love to see companies that take care of existing owners. If you want more info on the upgrade program, contact TBAC at support@thunderbeastarms.com or call 307-287-2052.
SilencerCo recently released this really slick looking infograpghic demonstrating how silencers (or suppressors if you please) work. The graphic notes that silencer ownership has doubled since 2011. Unfortunately there is still a lot of misunderstanding about silencers. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard people say that silencers are illegal or that only police and military are allowed to have them. Education is key. Adding a silencer to a rifle or a pistol simply makes the firearm safer to use and more enjoyable for all involved!
We were at the range today wrapping up some testing on the Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS 4.5-30x50mm rifle scope. Since it will still be a week or two before we are ready to release the full review, I though we would give you guys a really short teaser video showing how to use the T-Lok turrets in a competition environment.
You will note that I leave the bolt open when transitioning between targets. This is a technique used in competition shooting. It does not translate to the real world. In the real world, you want to bolt up a fresh cartridge as soon as possible.
Enjoy the video and don’t worry, when we do the full review we will cover setting the Z-Lok Zero Stop.
