Magpul MS4 Dual QD Multi-Mission Sling Review

The number of sling designs on the market today are mind boggling. Only a few stand out from the sea of nylon webbing. The Magpul MS4 is one.

I first became acquainted with Magpul slings when they released the MS2. Several of our SWAT Team members purchased them. I tried them out, but since my rifle was not setup with an ASAP plate or appropriate loop, I couldn’t make use of it. The idea was sound. The single point sling was a necessity I loathed. It made switching to support side simple when flowing through a building. However when the entry was done and it was time to escort prisoners out or assist in a search I found my rifle constantly banging about. So much so that I was grateful for the groin protection on my vest. Continue reading Magpul MS4 Dual QD Multi-Mission Sling Review

Bushnell Fusion 1 Mile ARC – First Look

IMG_2994The sound of the UPS truck is always a welcome break to the work day. This time Big Brown brought us some love from Bushnell Tactical in the form of the new Fusion 1 Mile binoculars. The Fusion 1 Mile comes in three favors (8x , 10×42 and 12x). All three are equipped with a built in LASER rangefinder. Bushnell sent us the “just right” 10x42mm variety. AR15 Build Box

AR15 Build BoxFor some of us, building an AR15 is routine. We have boxes of small parts laying about in a semi-organized manner. When it’s time to build, out come the tupperware containers and armorers tools. For a new builder it may seem a little daunting to keep those parts organized until it is time to assemble. It may be difficult to look at the pile of parts and determine if anything is missing. Paul Scott at AR15BuildBox.com has the answer.

Rainier Arms Raptor AR15 Charging Handle Review

Rainier Arms Raptor Charging Handle
Rainier Arms Raptor Charging Handle

I am a big fan of the old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The AR15 is a highly upgradeable platform. You can change just about any component in minutes. The drawback to this is that it makes it easy to pile on unneeded accessories. Charging handles are not immune. Continue reading Rainier Arms Raptor AR15 Charging Handle Review

XLR Industries Carbon Chassis Review

xlr-logo-blackRifle chassis systems are a great addition for a tactical rifle shooter. No two shooters are exactly alike and a chassis system allows a shooter to easily fit the rifle to their body. A rifle that fits better is more comfortable to shoot. Chassis systems are not without their drawbacks. Most add a good deal of weight to the rifle. This is what first attracted me to the XLR Industries Carbon Chassis.

Kwikguard Rail Covers

Kwikguard Rail Covers

Railed hand guards are a great means to mount accessories to a rifle. However they can get in the way when you don’t need them. They can tear up gear and barricades if they are not covered. Additionally the rails can be damaged to the point that they no longer accept accessories.

Kwikguard Rail Covers are a simple way to keep your rails safe when not in use. They are made in the USA and come in a variety of lengths and colors. Continue reading Kwikguard Rail Covers

Promag Archangel AK Adjustable Stock Set

We just got a nice box of goodies from Promag containing a new Archangel AK Adjustable stock set. I was excited enough to shoot a little video. This is a quality, solid feeling stock. It is pretty heavy duty and confidence inspiring. Can’t wait to get it on our WASR 10 and take it out to the range!

CTK Precision P3 Ultimate Monopod Review

CTK Precision P3 Ultimate Monopod

There are quite a few monopod options on the market today. Most require you to add some type of rail or attachment to your buttstock. The P3 Ultimate Monopod from CTK Precision does not. It attaches quickly to the rear sling stud found on most basic rifle stocks. This is a great option for the shooter with an agency issued rifle, or any shooter who doesn’t want a monopod on their rifle all the time. Continue reading CTK Precision P3 Ultimate Monopod Review

3Bucc Brass-Savr Brass Catcher Review

3Bucc Brass-Savr
3Bucc Brass-Savr

I really enjoy shooting AR15 rifles. They are low-recoil and high fun. What I hate is picking up the brass that they throw to the ends of the firing line. With ammunition and reloading components in short supply I am fanatical about picking up my brass. This used to be a very time consuming process on the concrete firing lines and almost impossible if the grass had not been recently mowed. During local matches I would almost always loose a handful of cases. Not any more! Continue reading 3Bucc Brass-Savr Brass Catcher Review

Inteliscope Tactical Rifle Adapter

It seems more and more “video game” type technology is creeping into the firearms world these days. Previously we brought you information on the amazing new systems from TrackingPoint that adds digital video and ballistics to the long range, precision rifle. We just caught wind of a new product that is more on the “ramen noodle” budget. A company called Inteliscope is set to release an adapter that allows you to mount an iPhone or iPod Touch to the top of a picatinny rail equipped rifle. This along with a companion app will allow you to use your iDevice as a 1-5x rifle scope. The form factor appears to be geared mainly towards AR type firearms, but could possibly be used on other high “height over bore” systems like some bolt action chassis systems. The company is taking pre-orders with a June 2013 ship date. We have no other information at this time, but this looks like a neat gadget. It may have some tactical applications if the durability is there, however it appears that the Inteliscope adapter does not provide any waterproofing or impact protection for the iPhone, thus limiting the environments it can be used in.
