Precision Rifle Book

Several weeks back we posed a question to you on our Facebook page. We asked if you would be interested in a Precision Rifle book covering the fundamentals of precision rifle shooting. The answer was a resounding yes. In response to this we have started the project and home to have it completed by the end of the year. We are taking our time and doing it right.
Many of you expressed that you would like it to be available in print and eBook format. Once we get the content finished we will consider what distribution channels are appropriate. It will definitely be available in eBook format. This is the simplest and most cost effective means. However like many of you, I also like to actually turn the pages of paper books. Unfortunately that part is considerably more expensive and will require extensive research on our part. We will keep you posted as we move along. When we get closer to completion I hope to be able to tease you with some sample pages.

  1. John, as an Amazon author myself, you may want to look into the publishing channels they have. One of them is something called Create Space.

They print the book, you set the price. The pricing structure is a little complex as there is a channel cost, a fixed price per book, and then per page charge to get the total ‘cost’ of the book that is subtracted from the price to figure out your net per copy. But its one of the least egregious channels to sell through because while the percentage they take is kind of high, you are NOT giving up your IP rights. Its straight self publishing, they are just providing all the stuff to do it.

If you sign with an imprint in traditional publishing, they tend to ask you for the sun moon and stars in their boilerplate contract, which includes giving up your copyright potentially, through assignment.
